Alan Wayne Folz

Alan was born on February 7, 1951 to Chester Folz and Loretta Marshall at Deaconess Hospital, here in Evansville.

A family man, he placed great value in honor and service. His most memorable moments always involved his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his integrity above all, being there for you absolutely no matter what. He was a man of his word. A true role model for how to love fiercely and to stand up for what you believe in. He was unapologetically unique and took pride in that.

Professionally, he spent the majority of his life serving in a service role in one form or another. He served in the US Marines Corps during the Vietnam War and finished out his military career in the U.S Army Reserve before retiring from the armed forces.

Following his retirement from the military, he continued on in public service roles. He spent many years as a Volunteer Firefighter for Scott Township Fire Dept. and also had worked numerous years as an EMT for Burdette Park. He was working in Logistics at the Veteran’s Administration here in Evansville all the way up until his untimely death,

He was survived by two daughters, Loretta Boyett and Tammy Hamond; and two sons, Steve McKeethen and Matthew Folz. He was also survived by nine grandchildren; Tristan Hammond, Kiersten Clark, Issac Folz, Jocelyn Folz, Jessie McKeethen, Kyle McKeethen, Skyler Wilson, Paisley Boyett and Bentley Boyett.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Alexander Memorial Park.
