Dorothy Alene Ross “Bobbye”, 91, of Rancho Bernardo, died April 10, 2020 in Escondido, California.
She was born on November 6, 1928 to Gladys and Paul Johnson of Montrose, Colorado. She was welcomed into the family by her older sister Lois.
Bobbye graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1946, then graduated from Oceanside-Carlsbad Junior College with an AA in 1948. Later she attended San Diego State before becoming a teller at the Bank of America in Escondido.
She married William Ross ”Bill”, the love of her life, on June 6, 1953 and celebrated nearly 45 years together. They were blessed with three children Julie, Jim and David.
Bobbye had a deeply personal relationship with her Lord and Savior. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Escondido for nearly 65 years and was active in many areas. She particularly enjoyed serving in the area of hospitality. Her punch recipe is still a favorite!
Bobbye was an active and loving member of PEO (Chapter FV of Escondido) for
62 years. The members (who she affectionately called sisters) were faithful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents Gladys and Paul Johnson, sister Lois, brother-in-law Robert Hubbard and grandson Andrew Rundle.
Bobbye is survived by her daughter Julie, son in law Steve Rundle, sons Jim and David Ross and grandchildren Daniel, Paul, Katie, Aaron and Joel Rundle as well as great grandchildren Claire, Eliza, Ian, Harrison, Shepherd, Judah and Levi Rundle.
