SOLOMON, Paul T. “Solly”, 91 of Englewood, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton with his family at his side. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Alma (nee Thieman) Solomon, one son Stephen Solomon, two daughters and sons-in-law Julie and Jerry Eddy, Meg and Steven Gujer. Also surviving are his four grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy (C.E.) Manns, Jennifer (John) Ehrhart, Katelyn and Lauren Gujer; great-grandsons Rhys and Declan Ehrhart. He was preceded in death by a son Matthew Solomon, three brothers Stephen, Joe and Mickey, two sisters Veronica Harvilak and Mary Sweda. Paul was a WW II US Army Infantry Veteran serving in the European Theatre where he earned a Bronze Star among other medals, he was a Supervisor at GM and retired in 1980 after 33 years. He enjoyed his retirement years by being a good woodworker and carpenter. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and being a grandfather. He also enjoyed donating his time and talents to friends, family and Habitat for Humanity and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church for 43 years. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2 – 5 pm at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road. There will also be a Gathering of Family and Friends at PRECIOUS BLOOD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4961 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Monday, April 27, 2015 starting at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father James Seibert C.PP.S. celebrant.
