Sharon K Tiefenbrunn

Sharon Frost Tiefenbrunn died peacefully in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, on September 30, 2024, in the presence of loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Alan James Tiefenbrunn (d. 2023), and is survived by her two children, Theresa Tiefenbrunn Sample and Curtis Tiefenbrunn. Sharon was born in St. Louis, MO as the only child of Alpha (nee Adams) Frost (d. 1993) and Richard Frost (d. 1991). She met Alan at Clevaland High School, where the pair were consecutive valedictorians. They married on June 3, 1973. As one of two women in her medical school class, Sharon broke barriers for female doctors. She was a private practice dermatologist in South St. Louis, MO for over 30 years and was the president of the American Society for Mohs surgery in the early 2000s. Sharon enjoyed SCUBA diving and traveling the world with Alan. Sharon and Alan retired in 2012 and moved to the San Diego area to be closer to their just-born grandchild. Sharon has been an involved grandmother for Nicole and Celeste Sample, teaching them math during ‘Grandma school’ in 2020 and joining Nicole for four years of piano lessons. Sharon will be greatly missed.
