Nadine Elsa Allen

Nadine Elsa Weatherill Allen passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024 at the age of 92. Nadine was born February 13,1932 in Fulton, Illinois to Elsa and August Weatherill. Her family later settled in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School where she met the love of her life, Donald Allen Jr. After graduation, she worked for Union Pacific Railroad and they were married the following year in 1950. They had four children, Patricia, Michael, Teresa, and David. They resided in Iowa for 40 years until they moved to Florida in 1973. Nadine loved living in Florida where she could enjoy year-round gardening of orchids and other tropical plants. After Donald’s retirement in 1995, they enjoyed many years of travel together and developed a great love for Southwest architecture and artifacts that were on display in their home in Parrish, Florida.

Nadine is preceded in death by her son, David Scott Allen; siblings, LaVonne Traylor, Frederick, and Charles Weatherill; and husband, Donald Allen, Jr. She is survived by her children, Patricia Oneil, Michael Allen (Vickie Allen), and Teresa Allen; grandchildren, Jenna Beaty, James Oneil, Christopher Allen, Timothy Allen, Maria Carter-Giannini, David Giannini, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the outpouring of support they received through Nadine’s passing.

Bright or floral color dress code is encouraged to honor Nadine's dedication to beautiful gardens.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00a.m.on Monday, September 09, 2024 at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East. Ellenton, Florida 34222.
