Molly Katherine Smith

Molly Katherine Smith from Ellenton, FL went to be with the Lord suddenly on July 31, 2020 at the age 71. She was born on December 8, 1948 in Cincinnati, OH. She married her husband, Fred W Smith on June 19, 1971. They celebrated 49 years of marriage this year.

Molly “Kay” was a natural caretaker, always wanting to help others in need. She had a spunky zest for life and a great sense of humor. She never worried about herself; she had a kind and generous heart. A witty and feisty attitude, you always knew how she felt about something. She loved her family and friends dearly.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bradenton, FL for over 40 years, where she will be remembered for her love of the Lord and her baking. She was known to bring in many baked goodies for all to share.

Molly will be lovingly remembered by her Husband, Fred W Smith of Ellenton, FL. Her son Wally Smith and his wife Carrie, of Ellenton, their four children, Victoria Denson (Roth) Tallahassee, Alexandra Smith, Abbigail Smith, Jacob Smith of Ellenton. As well as her Great Grand Daughter Addy Mae.

Molly also leaves behind five sisters; Margaret Henry (Larry) Bradenton, Pam French (Eric) Bradenton, Emily Shepherd (Dennie) Gainesville, Patty Armstrong (Mike) Palmetto, Donna Rhodes, Palmetto and a brother. Owen Rhodes (Melissa) Sarasota. Along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her lifelong friend Sharon Lathinghouse of Parrish.

She was predeceased by Owen “Dusty” Rhodes (father), Claire Rhodes (mother) and Joan Hanley (sister).

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28th at 11:30 AM at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park located at 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222
