Mark passed into the arms of the Lord at 55 years of age on August 5th at Moffitt Cancer Center. He participated in 3 clinical trials in hopes that it would contribute to the cure of a very rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Mark was born February 11, 1966, to Steve and Meredith Byers in Sarasota, Florida. He graduated in the top of his class from Sarasota High School in 1984. With the award of scholarships, he became a proud Florida State Seminole where he received a finance degree in 1988. After working in banking, Mark spent 21 years with Florida Power and Light, finishing his career as a West Area Land Manager.
In 1989, he married his beloved wife, Carra (Comer). God blessed this union for 32 years and were given two very special children, Samuel and Savannah. Together they helped establish the North River Church of Christ in Parrish. Mark was dedicated to the church, serving as an Elder, minister, teacher, song leader, and treasurer. He went on mission trips to the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. Mark enjoyed boating, scuba diving, camping, hiking, and running.
In addition to his wife, children, and parents, Mark is survived by his sister, Julie Boland (Steve), nephew Logan, his mother and father-in-law, Herbert and Hannah Comer, sister in law Tina Lynch (Keith), niece Ashley Lowman (Tyler), and great-nephew Ellis Lowman.
