He was surrounded by his daughters and the presence of the Holy Spirit. He was born on June 14th,1937 in Bedford, Pennsylvania. He became a life-long resident of Manatee County (Samoset, FL) starting at the age of 3 years old. He attended Samoset-Oneco-Manatee high school between 1943-1956, he graduated from Manatee High School on May 15th, 1956.
He worked various jobs throughout his life, and in 2000 retired from the school board of Manatee County.
His hobby was fishing. He loved to throw his cast net and come home and smoke the mullet. He could often be found surrounded by family and friends. He loved to help those who were in need. He had a unconditional love for his family, friends, but most of all his love for The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. He loved God.
He was a member of Samoset Church of God the majority of his life. He moved his membership to the Bradenton Gospel Tabernacle in the last 10 years. He spent his life learning, studying in his Bible, talking, praying and teaching others about God. He had a strong desire for everyone to know about our Heavenly Father and to make it to Kingdom of Heaven.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years with Joan Wilson, his parents Wilmer and Sadie Wilson, his sister Mary Davis, his twin brother Dean Wilson his daughter Penny Jo Wilson, and his granddaughter Victoria Brantley. He is survived by his son Verdell Wilson, his daughter Rebecca Arrick (husband Darron), his daughter Darlene Thacker (husband Ryan), his brother Dallas Wilson, his sister Shirley Harwick, his grandsons Curt Wilson, Arnet Brantley IV, Jacob Brantley, Nolan Thacker, Rawley Thacker and his great grandson Jeremiah Wilson.
