Gertrude Ruth Cronin was born on July 24, 1923. She passed peacefully at home on September 29, 2024 in Palmetto Florida. She was a Petty Officer in the Navy and served in World War II. She was a proud Veteran and loved her country. Being involved in the many Veteran parades and dinners within in her community brought her so much joy. She volunteered at Manatee Memorial Hospital in the cardiology unit for 25 years. Her service in the community touched the lives of so many. Her pride and joy and the jewels in her crown are those she is survived by. Her family is her legacy and will be carried on through her brothers Jim and Douglas Leeds, her two sons Terry and Keith Cronin, her grandchildren Andrew Cronin, Amanda Whitted, and Bryan Cronin. Her late granddaughter Jennifer Cronin lives on in all our hearts and we are comforted knowing they are together now. Her great grandchildren Madeline, Drew, Ethan, Olivia, Mollee, Boone, Tag, Jude, and Camila will continue to carry her legacy into the next generation. Gertrude was a woman of God, a fighter, a wife, mother, grandmother, and the best "GG" there ever could be. Her kind spirit and wise ways will continue to carry us forward. She will be dearly missed and will be kept forever in our hearts.
