67, of Palmetto, died Thursday in Manatee Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Muriel Robinson and Edgar Robinson, Sep. 04, 1948, in Sarasota, Fl. Ed graduated from Sarasota High School in 1968. He married Ruth Robinson in 1975, and they lived together in Palmetto, Fl until present. Ed's early employment was a trucker and he owned his own semi truck at the age of sixteen. He completed training with the Manatee County Sherriff's Department and was a serving officer. In later years he was employed by Sarasota County and retired in 2012. He was passionate about making a difference in the lives of everyone he met. Ed was an active member of Highway Life Church, formally Pentecostal Revival Center. He loved to travel, and ride for down time on little country roads, loved nature and loved shooting his guns with his boys. One of his past times was working on his 1970's series John Deere Tractor. Ed is survived by five children: Howard and (Tammy) Robinson, David Robinson, Jonathan and (Ellen) Robinson, Jessica Robinson and Jeremy Robinson. He also is survived by five grandchildren. Officiating ministers will be Eurston Rollins and Thomas Winters. Visitation will be Monday June 29, 2015 6-8pm at Groover Funeral Home, Ellenton, FL. Funeral service will be Tuesday 2pm 'at Highway Life Church. A private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to P.R.C.
