Dean “Sonny” Jones, 79, of Bradenton, FL died on February 4, 2018 at Greenbriar Rehabilitation Facility. He was the husband of Kay Jones, his children are Susan Jones, Kenda Cocanougher (husband, John) ; Dean Green (husband, Raymond), and step son Todd Sponcil (wife, Laura).
Born in Milledgeville, IL, he is survived by siblings Alice Murphy, Marion Barr, Laura Hansen, Larry Jones and Terry Jones.
Following his military service, Dean worked for Stratton Lumber CO and Adessa Auto Auction in KY; and in retirement, at a Walmart in FL.
While in KY, Sonny became an avid U.K. Wildcat basketball fan. He was among the founder of the Jessamine County Rescue Squad and a member of the CB Club in Nicholasville, KY.
Some of Sonny’s favorite memories were of trips to his family reunions and traveling though the U.S. National Parks in his motor coach.
He loved God, family, his dogs, Nascar and eagles. His remains will be interred at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville, KY.
