Mike was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War, (1967-1968). He began his working life in an Illinois bike factory and moved on to many different occupations including Ironworker, Welder, Auto Mechanic, Scuba Diver, Motor Cycle Instructor, and spent his last 20 years working at the Hanford Nuclear Facility as a Nuclear-Chemical Operator, where he retired. Mike was good at everything he tried.
Mike enjoyed his many years as a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, traveling to their many functions all over the west. Mike was very proud to hold the highest position, Chapter Director, for two terms. Mike also enjoyed camping with friends and family, hunting for Okanogan County Mule deer and being connected on his computer.
Mike was preceded in death by Parents Jack and Marie (Roll) Messinger, and Grandson Jordan Messinger. He is survived by his Wife Beth Messinger, Kennewick, Sons Mike JR Messinger, Illinois, Jack Messinger, California, Dennis Messinger, Illinois, John Messinger (Delcina, Makayla, KoraLeann, Wesley), Kennewick, David Messinger, Kennewick, and Daughter Athena Fritz (Nathan- Sam and Eileen), Kennewick, Brother Patrick Messinger, (partner Penny Tverberg, Niece Madilyn and Nephew Kolbe Tverberg), Okanogan, Nephew Shawn Messinger (Jani- Britnee, Braydon, and Lindsey), Salt Lake City, UT, Niece Michelle Jelsing (Pete- JJ, Jamison, Jurney), Wenatchee and numerous family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Michael Ross Messinger will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the American Legion Hall in Pasco, Washington.
