Wilma Beverley Parks, age 86, of Stevensville, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She was born in Maryland on May 3, 1938 to parents, William Henry Jr. and Ethel Hynson (nee Upton); Loving mother of Wesley H. Parks Jr., and Annette B. Daniels and her husband Gary; Cherished grandmother of Eric, Wes, and Susan, and great-grandmother of Maisie, Keller, Wesley, Brody, Shane, Robert and Samantha and great-great-grandmother of Wyatt; Dear sister of the late Delma Fowler, Lois Griffin, and William Hynson III. She was lovingly preceded in death by her long-time partner, Roger Bell, and granddaughter, Susan Parks.
Wilma was a passionate gardener, known for her love of flowers and remarkable green thumb. She found joy in the beauty of nature and spent countless hours tending to her flowers and plants. She also enjoyed dining on the riverboat near Cambridge, savoring both the views and the food. Travel and camping was a cherished part of her life, with memorable cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska, and a visit to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon.
A person of deep compassion, Wilma was always thinking of others and generously donated to numerous charities, including those supporting veterans and homeless shelters. Her love for music spanned many genres, with favorites including the artist Susan Boyle, the Three Tenors, and Andrea Bocelli.
Wilma was an avid viewer of Hallmark Channel and the American Family Channel, particularly drawn to the Christmas movies. She also enjoyed British television, including Doctor Who, Doc Martin, Midsomer Murders, and Resident Alien on the Sci-Fi Channel.
A collector of sea glass and beautiful rocks, Wilma appreciated the simple pleasures in life and took comfort in the small treasures found in nature.
