Nancy Louise Henson, 82, of Savage, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 02, 2023, at Autumn Lake Cherry Lane Nursing Facility from Dementia.
Born on June 23, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Preston V. and Fannie Mae (Sargent) Holmes. Preceded in death by her brothers and sisters (Genevieve, Agnes, Gladys, Constance, Judy, Stanley, James, and Preston).
Beloved wife of the late James (Jimmy) Henson Sr. who preceded her in death on September 29, 2015.
Loving mother to her predeceased children: son James (Little Jimmy) Henson Jr., December 23, 1983, daughter Angela (Angie) Mills, January 22, 2017, and Angie’s late fiancé’ Benjamin (Ben) Lee, March 10, 2023. She is also predeceased by a twin daughter who did not survive birth (unnamed).
Inspirational “Mom” of Rose Bechtold and husband David (Dave), and Christopher (Chris) Henson. She raised her children with unconditional love and devotion in her hometown of Savage, MD.
Amazing/loving “Mom Mom” to her seven Grandchildren Brandon Briggs and wife Anna, David (DJ) Bechtold and wife Brandi, Gregory (Greg) Bechtold and wife Danielle, Elizabeth (Biz) Aleshire and spouse Christopher Freeman, James (Jimmie) Mills, Cheyenne Anorve and husband Abel, and Savannah Henson. Her ten Great Grandchildren: Isabella (Bella), Jeremy, and Hannah Briggs, Aubrey Bechtold, Zoey Bechtold, Adalyn and Aiden Freeman, Wesley, Elena, and Joseph Anorve. Also, to her sweet “Angel” Baugh.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. The time she spent with them was always treasured.
Besides her children, Nancy is survived by her nieces whom she loved dearly: Trisha (Pat) Riley, Linda Youse, Sue Dixon, Debbie Stiles, Roxanne Mendis, and Melissa Rollman. She also had many other nieces, nephews, cousins, kids that became her kids and friends whom she loved and adored.
She was a school bus driver (Bus 28) for Leishear Bus Service, Howard County for many years and worked for Storch Realty in Savage.
Nancy loved having a house full of kids and their friends not to mention anyone who would stop by. She welcomed everyone into her home, provided lots of love and laughter to all. She loved sitting on her front porch with her family/neighbors Donna Jean, Dottie, and Brenda, enjoying their precious time together. They were all entertaining to say the least. She loved music (Elvis and Country), cooking, baking, her Dove ice cream bars and Dove dark chocolates, crafting, and preparing for the Strawberry and Fall Festivals with her Savage United Methodist Church family. She also enjoyed traveling with the Savage Majorettes, trips to Magavista Beach, Ocean City, Chincoteague, VA just to name a few.
Nancy’s life was full of many blessings which she never took for granted. She remained strong in her faith with a beautiful smile when God greeted her and took her home.
