Marjorie Rae Steib, age 94, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Rae was born in Baltimore on October 20, 1928., to her parents, the late John L., and Thelma T. (Marvel) Cooper. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard T. Steib and loving mother of John (Lois) Steib and Diane (David, Sr.) Egge. Dear sister of the late Patricia (William) Gerber and Barbara (Patrick) Hackett. Loving grandmother of Christopher (Cara) Steib, Jeremy (Yoko) Steib, Laura (Dave) Zheng, Jonathan (Natalie) Steib, Jessica (Timothy) Tenney, Pamela (James) Carpenter, Kathleen Egge, David Egge, Jr., Steven Stinchcomb and Scott Kochis and great-grandmother of Andrew & Kathryn Steib, Evelyn & Elinor Zheng and Alyssa Kochis and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Rae was raised on the Eastern Shore and in Baltimore. She graduated from Western High School in 1946. After graduation, she worked at Fidelity & Deposit Company of Maryland as a Secretary. In 1949, she met the love of her life, Gerard Steib and they married on June 21, 1951, spending 39 wonderful years together until his death in 1990.
Rae spent her time caring for her home and family. She was an active member of Sexton United Methodist Church in Morrell Park, serving as a Sunday School teacher and on various committees. When Sexton closed in 1995, she became a faithful member of Arbutus United Methodist Church.
Rae enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles and playing bingo. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a second mother to many and will be greatly missed.
Receiving of friends and family for Marjorie will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075, where a funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM. Burial Meadowridge Memorial Park.
