Lois Jeanne Nicoletti peacefully passed away in her sleep on September 27, 2024, from natural causes related to Parkinson’s Disease. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Colonel Louis and Rose Nicoletti, her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Pat Bradley, and her first-born grandchild, Faith Felice Shilling.
Born the eldest of seven, Lois grew up in Chestnut Hill, a suburb of Philadelphia, where she attended Catholic school. Her passion for learning led her to earn both a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a Master’s in Education from Towson University. Lois devoted nearly 40 years to teaching in both public and private schools, continuing to substitute teach until June, 2024. Her unwavering dedication to education touched the lives of countless students, as reflected by the hundreds of heartfelt letters she received over the decades.
Lois had a fervent curiosity that extended beyond literature and the arts. She was deeply interested in exploring scientific ideas, pondering the mysteries of the afterlife, and considering the possibility of life beyond Earth. She cherished time spent with family and friends, her Golden Girls Alumnae and Tino's dinner groups, and especially loved trips to the ocean and time with her beloved partner, Bill Schaeffer and her dear friend, Jane Shilling. She was also an active member of Kittamaqundi Community Church.
Lois is survived by her loving children, whom she shared with her former husband, Ronald Felice: Elisabeth Seye (Abdou), Jennifer Shilling (Edgar), and Damien Felice (Gina). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Ibrahim Seye (Emma Clapp) and great grandchildren Nairobi and Atticus Seye, Marieme Seye (Aaron Edwards), Jacob Shilling (fiancée Hayley Hoagland), Lucas Shilling, Alyssa Brown (Chris) and Mason Felice. Her siblings, Pam McCullough, Kathy Fazzina, Geoff, Gail, and Richard Nicoletti, along with their families, will forever treasure her memory.
