It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray Ogden, Jr., a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on December 16, 2024. Ray was predeceased by his loving wife, Yvonne Elizabeth Ogden. Together, they shared a life full of love, faith, and family. Ray was the devoted father of John R. Ogden, III (Rhonda), Teresa M. Ogden, Michele L. McMillan (David), and Michael J. Ogden (Pamela), and the cherished brother of Judith Bach (the late Joseph) and the late Joseph "Ronnie" R. Ogden. Loving grandfather of Nicole, Mallory, Megan, James (Katherine), Alysha, Ella, Cierra, Nichelle, Michael, and Jordan and great-grandchildren Reece, Zoey, Harper, James, John, Naomi, Serenity, and Jeremiah. Ray is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a man of deep faith and a dedicated member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church community, where he found both solace and joy. He was involved for many years doing prison ministry, sharing his devotion to God with the inmates and his community. His faith was a cornerstone of his life and he lived his life guided by the principles of compassion, kindness, and generosity. Whether through his work with the NSA or his countless hours spent helping children with special needs, Ray showed the world his unwavering commitment to serving others.
He had many passions in life. A lover of good company, Ray enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, watching Western movies, and cheering on his favorite football teams—the Baltimore Colts and Ravens. He was known for his love of Ledo's pizza, crabs, and a cold beer—simple pleasures that brought him great happiness.
Ray had an infectious enthusiasm for science fiction books, often diving into fantastical worlds that sparked his imagination and curiosity. But above all, his greatest joy came from his family and the connections he built over a lifetime of laughter, support, and shared memories.
Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and many others whose lives he touched.
