I recently had the most loving and wonderful phone conversation, reminiscing with my sister Joanne. And I will always cherish our last meal together, just Joanne and Raymond in Linthicum Heights, MD -- fresh Maryland crab cakes for Joanne!

Joanne is survived by four siblings: older brother Raymond Paolella, older sisters Julie Paolella and Janet Paolella, and younger sister Barbara Paolella Guilford.

So sorry for the loss of Joann, she was so very sweet and kind to me each and every time I seen her. She’s a very special person and God is lucky to have her as his new angel. She will be missed.

Joanne, my very special friend and chosen earthly sister – you will always live in my heart.  Thank you for sharing your life with me and for always being such a good friend and confidant.  You are a very special person, a wonderful mother and grandmother and you were the best wife to your special Curtis who was the love of your life.  You were loving, caring, kind, witty, humorous, generous and honest.  You had a big heart, a wonderful beautiful smile and a bigger personality.  You loved life and you loved your family.  Now, my dear friend you are free and you have left one chapter of your life and moved on to the next and you did it your way just as you said.  I will miss you dear friend – I love you and your family.  Blessings and love to all of those who touched your life and especially for those you loved most -- Christa, Curtis, and Jacob.

Many great conversations with her at Sharon’s, unfortunately making beautiful plans we didn’t get to keep,  you will be missed, Rest In Peace my friend.

Joanne was such a character! Her passion for politics and especially her passion for life that begins at conception, were some of the things that could rattle ones beliefs, but it proved to shape her character into a person that makes the world a better place. She knew she had purpose and our community is stronger because of the causes she supported. 
She also had the most compassion, patience, and fondness for her children and grandchildren, and I've learned a lot about loving my own kids the way she loved hers.
May she rest in peace. May the place that God has prepared for you in Heaven be more satisfying than you ever imagined.

	Joanne is my big sister. There are so many good memories. From summer days playing hopscotch, jump rope, or hide and seek to just watching the clouds move, we enjoyed playing together. One day, we realized we were the only kids not riding bikes. We found a small, old bike and the adventure began. We practiced up and down our street with bloody knees sometimes hitting our neighbor’s cars, Whoops! Finally, we could stay on. Ya!! Eventually, we moved to a new house with access to a community swimming pool. Most summer days, you could find us there learning to swim. Finally, we passed the pool’s swimming test and were allowed to use the “deep end”. YES!   Other times you could find us cooking, playing pretend restaurant or playing Barbies. We managed to save(from our newspaper route) enough for the Barbie Camper and Barbie Swimming pool. Don’t tell anyone this, we sometimes skipped school together and instead spent those days having fun. Shame on us. Our family traveled to many different states, although our favorite place was Connecticut for our Italian families famous dinners.
	Eventually, our parents and I moved out of Maryland and Joanne and I only saw each other occasionally. We reconnected, over the phone, and had many thoughtful and beautiful conversations.
	I will always cherish our last visit together in Maryland with Joanne, Christa and Jacob and my daughter Laura. We ate Maryland crab cakes, toured Baltimore’s inner harbor and located and visited our Mom’s special family vacation beach house.
	My love for Joanne will continue on. Joanne has completed her earthly journey and is now starting her eternal life with God. I will continue to pray, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen. 

I will always cherish our family get togethers! You were always a ray of sunshine Joann and you will forever be in my heart. Rest In Peace ❤️ Love you.
