Eugene "Gene" Paul Poligardo

Gene Poligardo, age 77, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 4, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland to parents, Dominic and Victoria Poligardo and leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to his family.

Gene was the beloved husband of the late Bonnie Poligardo and a devoted father to Paul Poligardo (Michele), Cheryl Andrews (Donny), and Kristen Waltz. He was a cherished brother to Dominic Poligardo (Terry) and the late Toni Bessler (the late George). Gene is now reunited in eternal peace with his grandson Austin. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ashley (Erik), Caitlynn, Jacob (Amber), Jesse (Gabbie), Morgan, and Matthew, as well as his great-grandchildren Travis, Zoey, and Adley. He was also a proud uncle to Angelina, Kathleen, George, Mike, Keith, and Dom.

A Navy veteran who served his country with honor, Gene had a long career as a printer. He loved the simple joys of life, including his passion for fishing and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his companion, Sandy Hartz, who brought him much joy in recent years.

Gene’s love for his family, his unwavering support, and his warm, caring nature will be missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm where a Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 10:00am. Interment Private

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Chesapeake Bay Foundation, in Gene's honor.
