She was a native of Cynthiana, KY. She was a graduate of Bourbon
County High School and the University of Kentucky. She was a teacher, a mother, and a partner in the family business with her husband of 61 years, Bobby O. Cox. She enjoyed reading, working Sudoku puzzles, sailing, golfing, traveling, needlepoint, the beach, playing English
Rummy and anything to do with horses. She was a 2018 inductee into the Extreme Cowboy
Associations Hall of Fame. She was lovingly known as Gram by her grandchildren and many
others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Reed Ammerman and Mary Alice
Talbott Ammerman and her brother, Reed Ammerman, as well as her niece, Pamela Carden Reed and nephew, Brad Carden. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Cox; her son, Robert Cox of Taylorsville; her daughter, Laura Green-Hart (Lee) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren,
Grace Eliza, Cullen Marshall and Martha Bennett; her sister, Mary Benn Ammerman Adams (Van); her nephews, Gregory Adams (Amie) and Christopher Adams, Jeff Carden (Mary Ann), her niece Cindy Hennigh (Chris), and Betty Cox Carden (Bill). Her funeral will be held privately for the immediate family
at Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on April 25, 2024.
