Marilyn Ratliff

Marilyn was born in Cecilia, Ky 9/22/35 and was preceded in death by her father William E “Billy” Hill, her mother Geneva Hill Puckett, her grandparents Ray and Gertie Hicks Hill, and her best friend and brother William “Henry” Hill and a great grandchild Reese. She is survived by her 4 children: David Ratliff (Diane) of Eastview, KY; Stephen Ratliff of Munfordville, KY; Janet Ratliff Tyre (James) of Shepherdsville, KY; and Richard Ratliff (Patty) of Wilmington, Ohio. In addition survivors include her 8 grandchildren: Hope, Ashley and Samantha, Samuel and Nick, Benjamin, Lynda and Yvonne as well as 11 great grandchildren: Ryder and Reagan, Emmary, Kenton and Case, Wrenly, Felix, Dominic, Ignatius, Susanna and “Baby” Ratliff. Two nieces also survive: Lynann Hill Armstrong (Johnny) of Morning View, KY and Rachelle Hill Grey of Cecilia, KY and a great niece, Makenzie. A half-brother George Puckett (Patricia) of Louisville, KY and her ex-husband, Leason Ratliff of Guston, KY as well as her beloved dog “Chip”

Marilyn passed peacefully in sleep while residing at Springview Nursing Home in Leitchfield, Ky on 8/23/24. She loved her family and friends and especially loved giving the great grandchildren “noisy” gifts for holidays and birthdays – beeping trucks, toy phones, and ukuleles among them. Though she held various jobs throughout her life most will remember her from the years spent at E-town Animal Hospital or later as the fuel station manager at multiple Kroger facilities in Louisville. After retirement she adopted and cared for numerous stray cats and her days revolved around her little dog “Chip” and feeding the cats that she loved.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to either the Hardin County Humane Society or the American Stroke Association.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 from 11:00 am (ET) to 1:00 pm (ET) at Blue Ball Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. All are welcome to attend the graveside service.
