James was a Vietnam Veteran that served from April 1968 – November 1969. He was known to be a social butterfly, he loved playing cards, playing guitar, telling stories, and spending time with family. Especially his grandchildren and great-children. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing as a past time. He loved the Native American culture and wildlife. He traveled many places participating in pow wows while making long time friendships along the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmon R. Kaster, Lucille M. Skaggs; sister, Mary Joyce (Kaster) Krause; and brother, Edmon T. Kaster.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Judy Kaster; daughter, Lora Kaster Day (David); son, James Richard Kaster (Morgan); grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaitlin, Reagan, Lucas; great-grandchildren, Kynnedie, Delilah, Magnolia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and Native American friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be a Memorial Gathering for James on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1pm – 3pm at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Memorial Service is at 3pm with Pastor Scott Kerr officiating.
