Thelma spent her life in El Paso, Texas, and was a proud alumnus of Thomas Jefferson High School. After graduation in 1960, she pursued a career at Texas Tech Medical Center within the Human Resources department. Thelma was well-established and loved by many at Tech. She devoted over thirty years to the university medical center and cherished her time there. She always said she worked with amazing people and made lifelong relationships with many people from various departments.
Thelma made friends with each person she met and was always considered the life of the party. She enjoyed hosting extravagant events for any occasion and took great pleasure in providing those in attendance with a night to remember. Furthermore, Thelma was known for her unselfishness. She did anything for those in her family, friends included. She had a big heart filled with benevolence. Thelma appreciated nothing more than spending time with family, traveling around the country, and living life to the fullest. One of her most treasured family traditions was having all her children and grandchildren sleep over on Christmas eve, awaiting the bliss that Christmas morning would bring. Her greatest wish was to see the excitement and smiles of those she loved.
Thelma will be missed by many. She had a significant impact on the lives of those she met. Although we may have lost a kind and gentle soul on earth, heaven has gained another beautiful angel.
