Estela and her husband, Enrique Lopez, built their lives together in El Paso, TX where they lovingly raised five children. Her heart of gold led her to touch not only the lives of her family but the community that surrounded her as well. A proud '52 El Paso High School alumnus, her caring nature led her to a career in the El Paso Independent School District where she left her mark as a clerk, substitute teacher, and as an active member of the Parent Teacher Association. In her later years she was called to share her faith and served as a Eucharistic Minister for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Steadfast and strong, Estela dedicated her life to guiding her family in God’s teachings and blessings. As her family grew, Estela always took time to show each person that they were special and she held them in her heart, and they returned her love tenfold. Holidays would always find the Lopez home brimming with guests, roaring with laughter, and with Estela nestled in the center of it all avidly listening to all the stories at her table. Her door was always open with a warm hug to welcome you and a blessing to keep you safe when you left.
Estela is survived by her daughter Margarita, her sons David, Ruben, Oscar, and Danny, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Enrique Lopez.
