Uncle Chavy,
You will be tremendously missed. Sharing your knowledge of the desert and the insects that live in our area are stories I 
will miss. The stories of your outings with my parents will remain with me. But knowing you have reunited with my Mom brings me joy because I know you missed her. Too bad I will no longer to be able to attend your presentations even though you would run me off because I would  answer all your questions since I would attend them any chance I had. Thank you for all you taught me and for all the wonderful  memories. I Love you.  Your Dancy


  Dearest Quintanilla Family and Friends, We share in the great loss of beloved Sal who touched our lives and hearts in so many positive ways. Sal gave and reflected love, care, devotion, service, humor, playfulness, kindness and goodness. The length of life of those we love is never long enough. May we consoled in knowing that death is not the end; but, the beginning of changed life from physical to spiritual life to be forever with God Who is Spirit. Thank You, Lord, for sharing with us your beloved son, Sal. Rest in peace.

We were fortunate to have met Sal through his work as a Master Naturalist about 15 years ago or so which ultimately led to him joining our team at the West Texas Regional Poison Center.  He loved telling stories, learning about anything medical or scientific, and enjoyed teaching people of all ages and walks of life, from young children to older adults to our medical and pharmacy students and residents.  He was truly amazing and will be greatly missed!  We extend our most heartfelt condolences to you, his beloved family and friends.

I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Chavy. My best memories were the backyard weekend BBQs with plenty of food, laughs and of course “red” beer. He was a great listener & conversationalist. I always felt he measured his success by the relationships he had with his family, friends  and neighbors.  He welcomed anyone that showed up & I really enjoyed my visits. My Tio Chavy was nothing but pure love for me. From the time I was very little to the last time I saw him he was the most loving person. I'm so sad he won't be with us on this earth anymore - it makes me long for heaven more!! I love you, Tia Chayo, Jay, Tony and Veronica and am praying for all of you!

He gave me the name Tony Joe which I wear as a badge of honor, My admiration and affection for him was such that I named my 1st born son Tony Joe...

Some of the best memories of my life were spent with Sal, his family, et al. His passing leaves a huge void in so many hearts and lives. But now God has a helper in watching over His wetlands and small creatures. Rest In Peace old friend.
