He was born in Presque Isle, ME on June 12, 1952 to the late Roy Doss, Sr. and Eleanor Ham Doss.
He joined the U.S. Army in June 1970 and served his country in the Vietnam War with the 11th Cavalry earning a Purple Heart. He was discharged in 1976 at Ft. Sill, OK.
Roy worked as a welder and mechanic in El Paso for many years, retiring in 2014.
He was a Life Member of the Yucca VFW Post 8919 and enjoyed competitive darts, all shooting sports, and dancing with all the pretty girls.
He is survived by two sons, Samuel L. Doss and Robert B. Doss, one granddaughter, and friend and companion Christine Fannon, all of El Paso.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, March 15th at 2:00p.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, West Shelter, with military honors.
