Robert Lee Barnes was born on September 1, 1931 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He passed away on October 25, 2013 in El Paso, Texas after having been a resident here for the last 40 years. Robert was a proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. His service in the United States Army lasted 20 years and during that time, he received several commendations including a Purple Heart, at the time of his retirement he was an SFC E-7. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Tony Barnes and his sister Margie. He is survived by his loving wife Olivia Barnes and his brothers Wilmott South, William Barnes, Alexander Cunningham and their respective wives; he also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, two daughters, three grandchildren, three brothers-in-law, and a son-in-law. His warm heart and easy smile will be greatly missed. His memory will live in our hearts forever. We will love you always! Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home Central on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Religious Service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church with Interment following at Ft.
