Our Lord called Pedro “Pete” Borrego home on May 8th, 2024 at the age of 91.
He was born on January 6th, 1933 in San Elizario, TX.
He is survived by his loving wife Hilda; his children: Pedro II (Maggie), Edgar (Megan), Eric (Laura), and Omar (Christina); his grandchildren: Brianna, Lexi, Pedrini, Gabriella, and Alex; as well as his siblings: Joe Borrego, Raymond Borrego and Teresa (Tere) Nunez.
He is preceded in death by his father Alfonso Borrego, mother Cornelia Sanchez Borrego, brothers Loren Borrego, Filimon (Fili) Borrego, Alfonso Borrego, Norman Borrego, Raul (Ruly) Borrego and sisters Lidia (Lilly) Dindinger, Josephina (Pina) Lara.
Pete proudly served in the Korean War. Married in 1965. He began his business in 1972 at the age of 39, which he successfully ran with his wife and sons for over 50 years.
He loved meeting people, enjoying friendly conversations, and making people laugh. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. His favorite activity was spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Pete will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 5:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912.
Funeral mass will be Monday, May 20, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere St, El Paso, TX 79912.
