Miguel O. Vazquez, resident of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on May 29, 2024. He had a well lived life. He was the youngest of three siblings, was born to loving parents Miguel and Elena. Miguel will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His loving spirit is carried on by his wife Helen, their children Angela, Miguel Jr., Maribel, and Cristy, sons-in- law: Jacob, Corey, and Carlos. A doting grandfather to five grandchildren; Zoey Alize, Philomena, Zachary Alekzander, Zelda Athena, and Jose. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Miguel played one of the most pivotal roles in our lives. He is the core of our family, motivating us and sustaining us always. Not only was he a kind father-in-law, but was more of a great friend, mentor and offered guidance to his sons-in-law. Our father Miguel was always there for us, his adult children, offering his love, support, and encouragement. He helped prepare us for life’s challenges through his wisdom and guidance.
A great friend to many. Admired and loved by many. Miguel worked for over 40 years with the Catholic Archdioceses of El Paso at St. Joseph’s school and parish. He was a strong presence in the community and church, always helping and participating in all church functions and activities, such as bazaars, carnivals, liturgical feasts, and fundraisers. He had a giving heart and always gave to those less fortunate, even gifting the coat off his back. Miguel volunteered his time and skills building homes for the poor. As a skilled carpenter, he enjoyed crafting and restoring furniture. Other hobbies included traveling, gardening, cultivating his own fruits and vegetables, tending to a variety of animals he kept as pets, and enjoying time with his grandchildren.
Miguel had an exceptional memory and loved sharing tales of his memorable experiences with family and friends. Each time he would disclose a bit more details of the story, keeping us intrigued and in suspense.
He had a forgiving and loving spirit, always giving of himself, regardless of the hardships.
We thank you for your words of wisdom, advice, and love. We thank you for the beautiful lives we live because of your hard work, sacrifices and support you’ve given throughout our lives.
