Miguel Angel Garcia

Garcia, Miguel Angel, 78, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Born on July 13, 1935, “Mike” was a painting contractor and spent his lifetime providing for his family as well as serving his community through the City of El Paso which included eight years of dedicated service as Chairman of the City of El Paso’s Civil Service Commission; involvement with the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of America, El Paso Chamber of Commerce, Painting and Decorator Contractors of America, served as a member on various Board of Directors and also in a number of civic organizations and political circles.

Preceded in death by his mother, Benita Andrade, bothers Francisco, Raul and Carlos Andrade and Rodolfo Garcia. He leaves behind his wife Martha Jordan Garcia, sisters Hermila Trujillo, Consuelo Mora, Velia Andrade; children and their spouses Olga Avalos, Irma Hausman, Danny Garcia (Teresa), Charlie R. Ramsdale (Jana), Sandra Garcia Olmos (Manny), Jaime Garcia (Beatrice), Maria Elena Whiting (Timothy), Michael A. Garcia, Jr.; stepchildren Daniella Jordan, Sahara Jordan (Jorge Espinosa) and Rodolfo Jordan; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; his dearest friends “Los Chicharones” and his ex-wife Lennie V. Garcia who with his wife Martha, cared for Mike throughout the years. Pallbearers will be Jacob Garcia, Ryan and Kevin Smith, Michael and Mark Olmos and Rodolfo Jordan.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 Roger Bacon Seminary.
