Matias is survived by; son Matias Alberto Barraza II; and daughter Jaqueline Barraza; brothers; Rene, Arturo, Jaime and Jorge Barraza. Matias was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of St. Patrick's Cathedral. He also was a big fan of his UTEP Miners and the Dallas Cowboys.
Matias was preceded in death by his parents Matias and Guadalupe Barraza.

Visitation for Matias will be held Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Vigil service at 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home - West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 9:30 AM at St Patrick's Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa St. El Paso, TX. 79902. His cremation will take place at a later date.
