Maria Ramos Morgan was born on June 2, 1940 in Jalisco, Mexico. Mary came from humble beginnings and had a strong work ethic. She worked in the hospitality industry for many years and had a desire to open her own restaurant. She was a fabulous cook for her family and opened her own restaurant. Along with her husband and children in 1983, Franky’s Restaurant became a landmark to very loyal customers. Mary continued to operate the business until February 2016 due to her illness.
She was an immigrant that cherished her U.S. citizenship. She displayed a strong belief in the constitution and was actively engaged in everyday politics. She was blessed with a beautiful voice, which on many occasions captivated audiences at many events. Furthermore, she was the star of her own restaurant every Friday night where she entertained her own clients with classic mariachi songs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank M. Morgan and her sister Esther Saucedo. She is survived by her children: Grace, Yolanda, Kenneth, Francine and Franky; 13 Grandchildren: Joseph, Armando, Zab’Diel, Jerson, MaryAnn, Cassandra, Jonathan, Vyky, Jovana, Alec, Kenneth Jr., Kaydence, Marius. 6 Great Grandchildren: Celeste, Mauricio, Jaylin, Liesel, Jasias, Jonathan and her sister Sara Rodriguez and brother Leopoldo Espinosa.
She also leaves behind her dedicated employees and loyal customers whom she never took for granted. Her children would like to thank Del Sol Medical Center and Hospice of El Paso for their excellent care. Viewing will be on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00PM. Rosary will be held at Crestview Funeral Home on 1462 N. Zaragoza at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass 10:00 am will be held on Friday, October 14th at St. Mark’s Catholic Church followed by burial services at Evergreen East Cemetery on Montana.
