Cuca was a sweet and humble woman who loved to crochet, sew and cook for others. She was a deeply spiritual woman that was devoted to the church and her Virgencita de Guadalupe. She was committed to her family and friends. She loved everyone and left a lasting impression on all those she encountered. All were welcome in her home and greeted with a big hug and a smile. She made friends everywhere she went. Her only flaw was carrying the burdens of the world on her shoulders.
Her grandchildren will remember her as adventurous and fun loving, teaching them to stand on their heads, do cart wheels or slide down the dunes of White Sands and tumbling in the sand.
She and her children were blessed with a loving extended family that helped care for her after she suffered her stroke in 2010.
Cuca will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. The legacy she leaves behind will stay deep in the hearts of those that got to know and love her.
Special thanks to Father Mariano Lopez for rushing to her bedside to pray and anoint her, the medical professionals that have cared for her, her home caretakers and especially Mariluz who helped take care of her for the last couple months during these difficult times.
Due to the current circumstances that surround the world, there will be no immediate services.
When the family feels that we can all safely meet to celebrate her life, a memorial and burial will be scheduled and shared.
