"Mickey" to her family and friends, and "Tita" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was the last of her family to be called home on February 7th, 2022 in McKinney, Texas. She was born August 24th, 1922 in El Paso, Texas where she resided most of her life. Her parents were Francisco and Dolores Morales. She now rejoins her brothers Oscar and Frank Morales and sister Alice Fleetwood.
Mickey graduated Bowie high school in 1940. She went on to marry Eleazar Loera and they had children together. Mickey is survived by her four children, Beverly and Ronald Haugen, Eleazar Skip and Rose Loera Jr., Patricia Martinez and Douglas Prince & Doris and Rick Fernandes. Along with ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Mickey worked in retail for forty years with the American Furniture Company in El Paso, Texas. Her favorite hobby was sewing, always teasing she "never knew she had a hidden talent". In her twilight years she picked up painting, ceramics, and making beaded necklaces that she gave as gifts. Her favorite saying was, "do the best with whatever you have". Mickey was blessed with a very long and very healthy life.
Visitations will take place on Tuesday February 22nd at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn located at 8817 Dyer St. El Paso, Texas from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. Mickey will be laid to rest thereafter at 2:00PM across the street at Restlawn Cemetery.
