Maria De Jesus Diaz

On December 10th, 2021, Maria de Jesus Diaz passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Maria was born on February 6th, 1936, in Durango Mexico. At a young age, she came to live in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico where she worked as a school teacher. She eventually moved to El Paso, where she had 6 children, Lori Diaz-Guerrero(John), Joe Diaz, Yolie Diaz, Rosie Tapia(James), Pete Diaz (Rebeca), and Veronica Garcia (Roger). She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and father of her children Pedro Diaz, mother Guadalupe Avalos Mercado (Abue) and father Jesus Mercado and 3 brothers Guillermo, Everardo, and Ramiro.

Maria worked in the manufacturing field for many years. Throughout her life, her goal was to provide a good life for her children. Maria succeeded in this, as all of her children are successful in their respective fields. Maria was extremely proud of her children`s many accomplishments professionally, academically, and personally, her children were her pride and joy.

Maria lived a long, joyful, and happy life. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, her grandchildren, family, and friends. Maria is survived by her 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Rebecca Duran (John), Gabriel Diaz, Frankie Garcia, Michael Garcia, Lauren Garcia, Braedon O`Shea Diaz, Andres Diaz, Christian Diaz, Xochitl Diaz, and Xitlali Diaz. Her great-grandchildren are Charlize, Olivia, Juliette, Santiago, and Luke.

Maria was a woman that was full of life, love, laughter, patience, and compassion. Maria had a very positive outlook on life which is reflected in her children, grandchildren, and friends. Maria`s many attributes will live on through the numerous individuals she encountered throughout her life. Her hard work and efforts have paid off. We love you mom.

A Visitation Service will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter Dr. El Paso, Texas 79936.

A Vigil Service will occur Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 6:45PM at Martin Funeral Home East.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10AM located at 12200 Vista Del Sol Dr. El Paso, TX 79936
