CADENA Maria Porras Cadena went to her celestial mansion on Saturday, June 16, 2012. She is survived by husband, Alfredo. V. Cadena, children Dolores (Jose) Najar, Yolanda (Miguel) Tarango, Cecilia Olivas, Ricardo (Norma) Cadena, Rosie Cadena, and Raquel (Samuel) Benitez. She had 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Magdalena Mendez. Services will be held at Iglesia Bautista Trinity, 201 S. Cargil, on Wednesday, visitation at 5 pm, service at 7 pm. Thursday at Iglesia Bautista Trinity at 11:30 am followed by interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetary. Pall Bearers are Ruben Andres Hernandez, Alfredo Daniel Olivas, Ricardo Cadena Jr., Tommy A. Morales, Miguel Angel Tarango, and David E. Olivas. Hna. Cadena (mom) enjoyed serving God in many capacities: her love for missions, singing in the choir, visiting, teaching Sunday school, and glorifying God while helping others with her kindness and unselfishness was evident by her joy in doing this. She was very committed to honoring God by her example. Mom was a lady in every sense and fun-loving! She nurtured her family and friends with laughter, compassion, love, and wisdom. Thank you Mom for sacrificing so much for others. Enjoy your eternal reward! "Eternal joy and memories stay in our hearts forever, strengthening our special bond that parting cannot sever.
