Manuel leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years Maria, his children Veronica, Manny Jr. and Laura. He is survived by 8 grandchildren, Victoria, Emilio, Manny III, Dionicio, Aurelio, Gabriel, Ethan and Matthew.
Manuel's siblings include his honorable brother and best friend, David Villarreal, his sisters Isabelle De La Cruz and Herlinda Baraza and her husband Francisco Baraza. He joins his departed siblings, Esteban Villarreal, Alfredo Villarreal, Jesus Villarreal, and Rosario Escobar. As well as his mother and father.
Manuel was a thoughtful, funny and loving man. He served his country for four years as a sergeant of the United States Marine Corps. He received many awards during his time in the service, some of which include- a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service and Campaign Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, a Good Conduct Medal and a Rifle Expert Badge.
After leaving the service, Manuel joined the Southern Railroad Company, where he worked on the railways and served as a transportation engineer, until he later retired.
Serving as pallbearers are Emilio Aranda, Manny Aranda III, Dionicio Aranda, Aurelio Aranda, Gabriel Villarreal and Michael David Villarreal. Honorary Pallbearers include Ethan Henry Hansen and Matthew Aiden Hansen.
A visitation for Manuel will be held Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home - West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932.
