MANUEL TARIN our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, was called home on Monday, April 30, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He died at his home at the age of 84. Manny was born on March 3, 1928 in El Paso, TX, where he lived his entire life. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 18 years old, where he served honorably. Manny worked for a time at Darbyshire Steel and Border Steel, but he was most proud of his years spent working at ASARCO. He retired from ASARCO in 1993 after working there for 35 years as a welder. In his younger years, he was also an avid softball player and a heck of a first baseman. He was preceded by his beloved wife of 40 years, Rosa Amelia Tarin, who passed away in 1989. He is survived by his three sons, Manuel, Jr. (Marcia), David (Libby) and Daniel (Rosy), 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and good friends. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:15AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
