Manuel Antonio Pérez entered eternal life on June 10. A lifelong El Pasoan and Air Force veteran, Mr. Pérez is survived by his wife, Francisca Perez, his grandson Diego Antonio Pérez, daughter in-law Areli Chacón Silva, sons Frank G. Pérez, E. Ray Rodríguez, Jesse H. Rodríguez, Edwin T. Rodríguez, and Edward A. Rodriguez, sisters Anita Martinez, Ida Perez, Veronica Aguilar, Natalia M. Hermosillo, and Dora Ruzicka, granddaughter Marissa De La Rosa and grandson Brandon Gossage, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mr. Pérez was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He retired from Sun Metro in 1993 and received many awards for safe driving during his time as a Coach Operator. An avid reader, Mr. Pérez enjoyed learning about Native American cultures, history, and politics. He passed away peacefully at his home with his wife, Francisca, son, Frank, and grandson, Diego by his side. A special thank you to Father Martin Cordero for officiating Mr. Pérez’s funeral mass. We similarly thank Mr. Juan Carlos Dominguez at Our Angel Home Health for his friendship and the excellent care he gave our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be at 9:15 AM on Friday, June 19 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Mr. Pérez will be laid to rest at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso.
