Luis Alfonzo “Al” Yip, Born April 16th, 1932, died on March 19th, 2023. Al graduated in 1951 at El Paso High School. He served in the USAF for 4 years from 1951-1955. Later, he attended UTEP and worked as a research technician for 23 years. He also worked afterward at Rockwell International and Boeing North American, Inc. for 13 years and retired as lead test technician. He was a true Dallas Cowboys and Yankees fan.
His father, Yung Yip, his mother, Elena Fox Hernandez Yip, elder brothers, Benjamin and Samuel, and elder sister Elisa, preceded Al in death.
Al will be missed by many, including his daughter, Marilyn Caylor, her husband, Chad and their four children: Victor, Sabrina, Jesus, and Chad Jr. Al’s remaining siblings are: Dora Toman, Mary Helen Allen, Alberto Yip, Esther Campos and husband Ricardo, irginia Sun, Rebekah Lee and San-Yen, and Pamela Valle and husband Michael. Al leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as some grandnieces and grandnephews, and beloved neighbors, the Bogle family.
In earlier years, Al attended Grandview Baptist Church, where he remained a member, but later attended Scotsdale Baptist Church, El Paso.
A service will be held Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, 1:00 pm at El Paso Chinese Baptist Church, 2030 Grant Ave., El Paso, Texas 79930, United States. Burial will be held Thursday, March 30th, 2023, 11:00 am at Concordia Chinese Cemetery, 3700 Yandell Dr., El Paso, Texas 79903, United States.
