Lourdes "Lulu" Favela is survived by her husband of 51 years, Victor (Kato) Favela Sr., her three children: Wendy Hernandez (David), Victor Favela Jr. “Boy” (Leidy), and Estelle Marquez (Jorge), and her mother, Toribia "Toby" Luera.
The legacy of Lourdes "Lulu" Favela lives on through the love and memories she shared with her family. She had a heart full of joy and is survived by her five grandchildren, David Hernandez Jr. “DJ” (Amber), Christopher Jacob Hernandez (Samantha), Matthew Jeremiah Favela, Elias Sebastian Marquez, and Aubrey Nicole Marquez.
Lourdes is survived by her five siblings - Irene Rimple, Rodolfo Luera (Celia), Ruben Luera (Lety), Daniel Luera Sr. (Lucy), and Rogelio Luera (Cecy) - who will miss her dearly. Lourdes was preceded in death by her father, Leonardo “Nayo” Luera Sr., and brothers Ricardo Luera, Roberto Luera, and Leonardo Luera Jr.
Lourdes was a remarkable woman who spent her lifetime in El Paso, TX. She met her childhood sweetheart, Victor (Kato), and their love story lasted 51 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who prioritized her family. As an insurance agent, she dedicated over 30 years to serving clients and became friends with many. Her love for football was unwavering, and she was a loyal Raiders fan who never missed a game. Lourdes was passionate about holidays and especially enjoyed decorating her home for Christmas. Her home was the hub of family gatherings, and she loved spending time outdoors.
Despite her fight against a stroke and breast cancer for the past three years, she remained strong and persevered.
She was admired and loved by many. Lourdes' dedication, strength, and love for her family and life inspire us all. We will always remember the wonderful person she was and the memories she left behind.
A visitation for Lourdes will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. Following the visitation will be an interment from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79938.
