Justina Sambrano Piña was born in El Paso, TX on August 13, 1942 to Urbano Sambrano and Felipa U. Sambrano. She was a graduate of Ysleta High School and a member of the Ysleta Marching Band. She went on to marry her soulmate, Jose H. Piña who was married for 54 years. Justina rejoined her husband at the age of 79 when she passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.
Justina was known for her compassionate and loving personality. She cared for all her family members and close friends. She loved to talk on the phone, and cook delicious meals such as PANCAKES, frijoles y arroz, Tacos, Enchiladas, Mole, Hamburger Helper, and so much more. She loved to go shopping and be surrounded by all her family and friends. She was full of faith, love, and showed tremendous strength her whole life.
Justina is preceded in death by parents Urbano and Felipa Sambrano, brother Richard Sambrano, sisters Adela and Yolanda Sambrano, by her wonderful husband Jose H. Piña, her daughter, Rachel Piña, and Grandson Rashon E. Peterson.
Justina is survived by her brothers Urbano Sambrano Jr. and Raul Sambrano. She is also survived by her daughters Margie Piña, Yolanda Garcia, son-in-law, David Garcia, Yvonne Piña-Alcala, son-in-law, Christopher Victor Alcala and her son Jose H. Piña Jr., daughter-in-law, Irma Piña.
Justina is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Adela Marie, John Eric, Larry Michael, Abigail, Khalid Elijah, Hasim Zaid, Yael Amaya, Saidah Ismaella, Alexandria Renee, Danielle Briann, Jacob, Ashley, Amber, David Jr. “Burrito”, Angel “Gordy”, Davina Rose, and Anthony “Lizard”. Her great-grandchildren Aryssa Isabella, Isaiah Moises, Sebastian Jeremiah, John Jr.” J.J.”, Melody Rachel, Jayce Elijah, Amelia Rose, Ariel Rose, Anthony Josiah, Daniel Ezekiel, Ashton, and many loving fur-grandbabies.
The Family invites you to their loving mother’s visitation to be held Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A vigil will occur Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 7:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A funeral mass will occur Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11:30 AM at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 518 Gallagher Rd, El Paso, Tx. A graveside service will occur Monday, August 8, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
