It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juan Esquivel, who left us at the age of 59 on November 27, 2023, and transitioned to his eternal journey with God at his childhood home in El Paso, Texas. He was a beloved figure in the lives of his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Juan Esquivel was born on May 4, 1964 in El Paso, Texas to Donicio Daniel and Natividad Felix Esquivel. He attended El Paso High School, where he played as defensive end for the Tigers football team and earned his diploma in 1983. He pursued higher education at Texas State Technical Institute in Waco and graduated in 1985 with an Associate of Applied Science, Electrical Power Distribution Technology. He then had a successful 38-year career as an Account Manager at Texas Power and Light, which later became Oncor.
Juan was not only an accomplished professional but also a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He had an infectious laugh, an adventurous spirit, and a kind soul. He loved fishing, hunting, smoking brisket, watching Texas A&M Aggies and Dallas Cowboys football, and his ’37 Chevy which he enjoyed with friends from the Fort Worth Classics.
Juan leaves behind a meaningful legacy and an abundance of treasured memories. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Maria Wheeler, his beloved son, Jonathan, his daughter-in-law, Emily, his dear mother, Natividad, and his siblings, Ralph Sillas, Daniel, Julio, David, Maria, and Carlos.

The impact of Juan Esquivel’s life will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all his loved ones. He was a man of remarkable character, steadfast love, and courageous spirit.
In remembrance of Juan’s life, the family asks that those who wish to express sympathy would consider making a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital or United Way in Juan’s memory.
