Jose Angel Vega, born on December 1, 1938, in Houston, Texas passed away on September 27, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian M. Vega of 62 years, and 5 children, Diana M. Vega (Pablo M. Ortega), Sandra Vega Washam (Russell Washam), Mary Jane Martinez, Jose Angel Vega, Jr (Amelia Gonzales-Vega), Rosemary Vega (Jaime C. Rojas); and 7 grandchildren, Manuel E. Gonzalez, Jr. (deceased), Armando Martinez, Jr, Rebecca Y. Ortega, Monique M. Mendoza, Pablo M. Ortega, Jr., Matthew Martinez, Marco A. (“Anthony”) Rojas; and 3 Great grandchildren, Jesse Godoy, Manuel E. Gonzalez, III, and Jacob X. Gonzalez; and by 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Jesus Vega, Jr, Susano Vega, Juan Vega, Tomas Vega, Guadalupe Armstrong, Natividad Vega and many nieces and nephews.
He encouraged his children to pursue their education and be independent individuals. He cherished his beloved dogs. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and UTEP Miner fan. He enjoyed watching his western movies and working on cars. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Visitation will be held on October 5, 2022, from 4:00 pm- 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903 with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on October 6, 2022, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama St, El Paso, Texas 79930 followed by the burial at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
