Pepe graduated from Ysleta High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, becoming an expert rifleman and earning a National Defense Service medal. He served honorably achieving the rank of Sergeant. In April 2004, after 30 years of service he retired as chief clerk from Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad. Throughout his life he coached softball having accomplished many awards that included national and state championships. He had the pleasure to have coached his daughter, granddaughter and so many other young girls in the community.
He was the most kind and caring of people, "too nice", some might say. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings as well as his beloved wife, Alicia O. Ramirez who passed in October 2021. He is survived by his two daughters, Yvette M. Ramirez (Isabel) and Valerie M. Garcia (Andres) both of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Cassandra C. Garcia and Christian J. Garcia; two great-grandchildren, Samantha R. Garcia and Ryan A. Soto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. You are forever loved and will be greatly missed, may you rest in peace.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Hillcrest Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
