January 14, 1963 – May 12, 2023
We are sad to announce the passing of John Leon Warner the son of Charles D. and Wanda M. Warner of El Paso, Texas. He died of natural causes at age 60 years on May 12, 2023. John passed away leaving lifelong friends, colleagues and loving family members who will miss him terribly. John was not bound by a genre of creation. His technical interest extended to all aspects of cars, clocks, radio control planes/helicopters and he even built in his garage and flew a 2-seater airplane. John was a genuine expertise thinker who focused his thinking not on just producing the product but rather how to solve complex technical challenges.
During John’s life he was devoted to automobiles and was employed by Casa Ford, Casa Ford Collision, and J&H Collision Center LLC. He inspired multiple generations in model making and even ignited the careers of some of the people he worked with as well as inspired family members to do the same. John is a graduate of Cathedral High School and maintained lifetime friendships with several of his graduating class members.
John is survived by his sister Christine (Eric), nephew, Nathanial (Michelle), niece, Alexandria, 1st cousins David (Teri), Cynthia (Bob) as well as Sara (Rick), Susan (Tom) and Jane.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Cathedral High School student tuition assistance fund. Cathedral High School, 1309 N. Stanton St, El Paso, TX 79902.
The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members and friends present.
