September 26, 1935 – September 21, 2023
Our father James, also known by all that knew him Terry, died in El Paso, Texas on September 21, 2023 at the age of 87.
Terry graduated from Cathedral High School. After high school, he delivered news papers and during this time, he met Sally Kimbell. They married and had four children. In 1956 he joined the Navy and after he was honorable discharged, attended Texas Western College, now known as the University of Texas in El Paso.
Terry worked for Raytheon as an engineer and retired from there after 45 years of service. Most of his professional life at Raytheon was spent working on the Hawk Missile System, which is now at a museum.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Frances Hourigan, and his wife Karleen Hourigan.
He is survived by his sisters Nancy Bombach (David), Houston, Tx, and Joan Espinoza, Denver, Colo. He is also survived by his four children Chris Hourigan (Tina), Anthony, NM; Amy Howell (Darrell), Mansfield, Tx; Phillip Hourigan, Austin, Tx; and Elaine Pflugh, Anchorage, AK. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A visitation and rosary and visitation will be held November 2, 2023 at 5:30 pm at Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan, El Paso, Texas, 79932. A mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church November 3, 2023 at
10:30 am 400 W. Sunset Road, El Paso, Texas, 79912.
