Hope T. Sanderson

Hope Terrell Sanderson, May 28, 1930 – December 16, 2022, of El Paso, Texas, passed away at home where she wanted to be. Hope worked as an Airline Stewardess, a Telephone Operator and as a Newspaper Reporter for the Society Column, while going to college for her degree to become a school Teacher. Hope later went back to school to get a Special Education Degree. She worked as a Special Education Teacher until 2001, when she retired at the age of 72.

Hope is preceded in death by parents, one sister Elgeva Terrell Cantrill, and two brothers Bryce Charles Terrell and Ronald Rex Terrell.

Hope is survived by her sons Alton B Poe IV and Paul M Sanderson Jr and her daughters Charity Poe Rakes and husband Randall Rakes, and Virginia Faith Poe: a brother Don L. Terrell and wife Katherine Terrell and sister Sharon Faith Soper. She also has five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Visitation for Hope will be held Wednesday , January 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N Resler Dr, El Paso, Texas 79912. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:30 AM at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.

Pallbearers: Alton B Poe IV, Jason T Rakes, Robby Cantrill, Joshua Johnston, Tyler Johnston and Daniel Nilsen.
