On April 24, 1966 he married Mary Ann Drada at a ceremony in South Bend, Indiana. Hobert worked as an auto body repairman and painter at several different repair shops in South Bend and Mishawaka, Indiana. After spending most of his life in Indiana, Hobert relocated to El Paso to be near his two grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Hobert loved working on cars, especially his 1955 Chevy Belair which he restored. He loved being around classic cars, attending car shows, and spending time in the garage passing on his knowledge of cars to his son and grandson.
Hobert was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann, his parents, and his sister, Virginia Gallay.
He is survived by a daughter Melissa (Rudy) Navarro of El Paso, son Patrick (Yolanda) Syson of San Antonio, and two grandchildren Emily De La Rosa and Matthew De La Rosa, both of El Paso.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 4-8pm at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West Funeral Home, 5054 Doniphan Dr. with Rosary at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 12:15 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Parish, 400 W. Sunset Rd. Graveside Service will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, 4848 Alps.
