Helen Louise Ornelas

Helen Louise Ornelas of El Paso, TX, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, with her husband, Ralph, by her side. Louise was born to Helen McMahon Loeffler and Melford Loeffler. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, TX, and continued her education at St. Mary’s University and UTEP.

Louise met Ralph Ornelas when they were both working at Riverside High School. They were happily married for 44 wonderful years – they were true soulmates, loving nothing more than simply spending time together. Louise also embodied the best qualities of motherhood to her daughter, Margo: unconditional love, guidance, and unending generosity. After retiring from working in the Ysleta and Socorro school districts, Louise was very active in her post-retirement phase, continuing to help and encourage others. Louise loved spending time with her family and friends. She was full of life and had a beautiful, radiant spirit. Louise always had a smile on her face and spread positivity to others. She was the epitome of strength and grace throughout her life.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter, El Paso, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
